As promised, the deed was done so here's the update. Appreciated all the encouragement and memes (even if some of y'all were a lil harsh). Liking the look and feels great! Working on some facial hair now to complete the look.

I just want to bring everyone's attention to the fact that apparently, this is very stylish and cool now.

Personally I would love either an inscryption or cosmere set. Inscryption is already very similar to magic and having the various scribes be commanders would be sick. I’m super into the cosmere series right now and would love to see a set and it definitely feels more like normal magic sets that other universes beyond.

Currently eating our nachos and pizza alone while she does whatever she found that needs doing now instead of doing it while waiting for our food to be delivered.

This happens all the time even with home-cooked meals as well as delivery. When we're supposed to be sitting down to eat together, she suddenly has 9 other tasks that need to be done now. Not when we were waiting for delivery or food to finish cooking, but once we finally get the food and are supposed to be sitting down to eat.

Sometimes it is something important, but even then, it's something we could have done before the food arrived or finished cooking. Then she sits with her food having cooled off and only takes a few bites before being done and unintrested because it's no longer hot and fresh before eating something else entirely.

I was a high end chef for 8 years and like cooking for her, but lately I've resigned from doing so because it ends up cold and left behind regardless.

I've offered help many times and usually get told "no thanks." Or "im almost done."

She doesn't bring up these tasks or chores before the food or else I'd just do them before hand.

Yet most of the time the tasks are simple chores that can wait or that we could have done together before the food and not the literal moment we're supposed to be eating.

Not joking when I say this even happens sometimes when we go out to eat. She calls a friend or goes to the bathroom or something and won't touch her food for nearly 20 minutes until it looses its freshness. Which she then takes home to-go and let's it go bad in the styrofoam container in the fridge.

Is this a unique problem or not? I don't know anyone who would rather do other tasks before sitting down to eat only once the food is ready and not beforehand.

Edit to add more info and answer questions.

1. I forgot to mention she is on medication that lowers her appetite. She doesn't eat much as is, yet regardless, she could be doing those tasks before food arrives to at least be able to sit with me even if she doesn't eat much. Volume isn't the problem, presence is.

2. She does have an asshole dad who, when she and her sister were young teens, called them both fat many times despite being average or lower weight for their ages.

3. As far as I'm aware, she has no diagnosed ADHD or ED. She absolutely has sat down and finished eating with me before, but very rarely.

4. My own cooking was the first time I'd ever seen her finish her food after 4 month (att) of dating. I cooked her and her daughter some real homemade spaghetti and meatballs with garlic toast and to my surprise, they both finished their plates for the very first time since we started dating.

5. No, I don't eat with my mouth open, haha. If I did, she would have no problem telling me as she's a very openly opinionated woman.

6. There have been times where she says outright that she's not hungry, yet still sits with me while i eat and she cuddles and scrolls her phone while I watch a movie or tv. Which I'm fine with. I'm only frustrated when we had active plans to eat together, like, preplanned, only for her to suddenly need to do something else instead of eating with me.

7. This has affected me in that I get caught in the middle of this guilt for not waiting for her to eat my own food vs being done eating by the time she finally sits down to eat for herself even if not a lot. Eating with someone you care about it makes the food taste better in my opinion. It's like a mild bonding action, sharing bites of food and talking about the things that happened at work or upcoming events or whatever. It's a chance to do something together that isn't a chore, but something to be enjoyed together.
